What I do is portraiture (in the studio), people, street photography and fashion.
I love to make photo’s, as stills of life, of situations, be it that the form, the aesthetics dictates the decision to press the button.
I have been photographing and studying photography from young age, with different camera’s, formats and media, learning all the ins and outs, and I am still learning.
Over the years my style has evolved to my love, again, for black and white, giving more expression of the core.
I remember long time ago photographs I have seen in a display case of an art gallery, portraits in black and white of artists/writers. I was struck by the balance of greys, the gradients from black to white in the pictures, and the coolness of the glance, the look.
That coolness, that frank look, the genuine glance, I like to grasp in my portraits.

Ik hou ervan om foto’s te maken, als stills van het leven, van situaties, zij het dat de vorm, de esthetiek, de beslissing dicteert om op de knop te drukken.
Ik fotografeer en studeer fotografie van jongs af aan, met verschillende camera’s, formaten en media, leerde alle ins en outs, en ik ben nog steeds aan het leren.
In de loop der jaren is mijn stijl geëvolueerd naar mijn liefde, opnieuw, voor zwart-wit, waarin meer expressie van de kern van het beeld wordt uitgedrukt.
Ik herinner me lang geleden foto’s die ik heb gezien in een vitrine van een kunstgalerie, portretten in zwart-wit van kunstenaars / schrijvers. Ik werd getroffen door de balans van grijstinten, de gradiënten van zwart naar wit op de foto’s, en de coolness van de blik, de oogopslag.
Die coolness, die openhartige blik, de oprechte blik, probeer ik in mijn portretten te bereiken.
